Comparing the effect of conventional transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation with Acupuncture like transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation on postoperative pain relief
The purpose of this study is to compare the effect of conventional transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation with Acupuncture like transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation on postoperative pain relief. The study population is men & women 18-60 years old undergoing appendectomy & inguinal herniorrhaphy in Ali-ibn-Abi-Talib hospital, Rafsanjan, Iran. Target sample size is 90. Exclusion criteria are: history of cardiac disease, psychiatric, epilepsy, addiction & pregnancy. Patients are divided into three groups: 1.conventional TENS 2.Acupuncture like TENS 3.placebo TENS. Then, patients' pain is compared among three groups before, immediately after and one hour after the intervention.
