Determining the impact of the training program on nurses' attitudes, self-confidence, and practice toward preventing and managing patient violence
Design
A semi-experimental trial with a blind control group will be performed on 72 emergency nursing personnel.
Settings and conduct
The present study is a semi-experimental one-way blind study (a statistical consultant of data type which belongs to which group will be unaware) before and after with the control group, which is based on 72 nurses in selected emergency centers. Yazd shahid sadoughi university of medical sciences (Shahid sadoughi hospital emergency department, Shahid rahnemoun hospital emergency department, Afshar hospital emergency department, Shohada kargar hospital emergency department) will be performed. Coincidentally, 2 sections will be assigned to the test group and 2 sections to the control group
Participants/Inclusion and exclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria:
1. Employment in the emergency department
2. The desire to participate in research
3. At least 6 months of work experience in the emergency department
Non-Inclusion criteria:
1. History of participating in violence prevention and management training courses at work
Intervention groups
Intervention group: The test group participates in 3 sessions per week, one session per week for 8 hours, in the place of violence prevention and management training classes
Control group: Do not attend training classes

Changing nurses' attitudes, Self - confidence, and practice toward preventing and managing patient violence

Intervention group: Nurses in the intervention group will be tested for "attitudes toward violence management", "confidence in dealing with aggression" and "practice in dealing with violence" at the beginning and before the start of the first training session, and then nursing staff. 3 sessions, one session per week, each session for 8 hours, in the training classes of one of the two hospitals of the test group, in the classes of the training program for prevention and management of workplace violence that will be held by the project manager, under the training of skills Communication with patients, prevention and violence management skills of patients and patients will be provided at work, meetings will be held in the form of lectures, group discussions, scenarios and role-playing. The content of the meetings, which is based on the instructions, includes; Different definitions and types of violence in the workplace, risk factors related to patient violence, ways to prevent and manage violence in the workplace, the response of health care personnel to how to communicate properly with the patient and how to follow up and to satisfy the victims of violence. It is violence. Eight weeks after the last session, all nurses in the test group will take the "Attitude Towards Violence Management" and "confidence in dealing with aggression" and "practice in dealing with violence" tests.
